| Clean sweep for the lads from Macc! |
Despite a squad stretched by drop outs and injury, IAG manage to maintain a 100% record for 2009...IAG arrived at the JJB for their first round of games in 2009 with a squad stretched to the limit. First up were Wigan Peoples Voice, but a brace from Alan Pringle, back for the first time this season, saw the points gathered safely with a 2-1 triumph. Again, IAG were at the mercy of the fixture list as unfortunately their next two opponents failed to show. Friendlies were hastily arranged which did not affect the points as two points were awarded to the Macclesfield side for each of the games. A tight game against Bolton FC saw IAG squeeze through 2-1 via an own goal and a Pringle strike, and the final game of the day was a 15-1 demolition of a spirited Blackpool CST team. A triple hat trick from Steve Melton was the stand out performance backed up by three goals from Chris Charlton, two from Chris Tipton and a solitary effort from Alan Pringle, as IAG racked up their biggest ever win. Six points and a leap up the table as IAG continue to improve on their performances from last season. |
