| IAG begin their third season! |
 1st October 2009. IAG FC begin their third season at the Powerdome with a win, a draw and a defeat…First opponents for the Macclesfield side were Welsh Dragons who put up a spirited fight but were eventually overcome 6-2 with Darrin Sullivan and new boy Nathan Vickers grabbing a brace apiece and Steve Melton and Chris Tipton one each. Bolton Early Intervention All Stars provided second opponents and a ding dong battle ensued with play end to end and finally ending in a 1-1 draw, Melton scoring the IAG effort. As both sides’ original opponents were unavailable, the match was billed as a friendly with IAG and Bolton both gaining 2-0 wins for the purposes of the league table. The last game saw IAG up against old foes Wigan Peoples Voice and another cracking game saw the Lancashire side edge it 1-2, this time Vickers the IAG marksman. So a relatively satisfying days work with four points out of a possible six and some very positive signs for the campaign ahead. |
