 25th March 2010 and IAG FC go goal crazy at the Soccerdome...IAG entered the home straight in the tussle for honours with their most successful day yet at the Soccerdome. Three wins out of three with a phenomenal 21 goals scored, conceding only one in reply. Again new signing Dec Fletcher was the inspiration as he fired in an incredible 14 goals with a couple of assists for good measure. Bury FC were the first to feel the force as Fletcher with four, Andy Mulley and Daz Sullivan gunned them down 6-0. There was to be no let up in the second fixture as Medlock FC were swept aside 7-0, Fletcher with another four, Sullivan with a brace and Rob McNay hitting a sweet strike. Last up were Prospect Place, but there was to be no stopping the Macclesfield outfit who ran out 8-1 winners, Fletcher hitting an amazing six with a couple for Mulley. It would be easy to heap all the plaudits onto the strikers, particularly Fletcher, who had an incredible day, but a word of praise must also go to IAG’s solid defence who held out until the last minute of the last match before conceding. Emergency keeper Steve Melton, Chris Tipton, Jon Naylor and Rob McNay were outstanding as was Daz Sullivan holding things together in midfield, and Andy Mulley did a great job in supporting his prolific strike partner. Unfortunately, all IAG’s rivals had winning days too, so it will be left to the last day of the season to find out whether any silverware will be forthcoming.
