| IAG scrap for the points! |
Three tough, competitive matches at the JJB see IAG get a win and two defeats...Crumpsall Boavistas provided the opposition for IAG as the business end of the season approaches. Crumpsall, in many ways similar to their Macclesfield opponents with regard to their improvement on last seasons’ results, had won the first encounter, and this game was a tight, hard fought match. Unfortunately for the Manchester side, the result was decided minutes from the end via the penalty spot after an infringement by their keeper, and the resulting kick was swiftly dispatched by Darrin Sullivan. Old rivals FC Bolton were next up and another tight affair saw the spoils go to the Lancashire outfit after a piledriver from long range left the IAG defence helpless. IAG then took on the league leaders Salford East and gave an excellent account of themselves before finally succumbing 1-2, Steve Melton the lone scorer. Two out of three defeats for IAG then, but the Macc boys are showing week by week how much improvement has been made and are clearly not a push over for anyone in their league. |
