| IAG start to find some form! |
17th January 2008 and IAG begin the process of repeating their fixtures and have cause for some optimism…Match One saw IAG up against a Bolton team proudly holding on to their unbeaten record. Goals from Neil Marsom and Pete Tattersall put that record in severe danger however, and only two late strikes and what looked like a perfectly good Tattersall goal that was disallowed saw the Lancashire side claim a share of the spoils at 2-2. Next came the opportunity for the team to redeem themselves against New Way Forward who had handed out a twelve goal mauling the last time the teams had met. Things were a little different on this occasion however, and despite going down 2-3 with goals from Andy Barber and Pete Tattersall, the team more than acquitted itself with most neutral observers (including it must be said, the referee), saying they felt that IAG should have won. These two results seemed to give IAG confidence going into the final match of the round against a Blackpool side that had dished out a 4-1 hiding in the first fixture. IAG were not to be denied however and goals from Tattersall and Marsom (2 apiece) and a great strike from Chris Tipton saw the Macclesfield side record a tremendous 5-0 triumph. Overall then, a much improved performance from the results on Day One of the League programme and further evidence of how far the team has come. View latest league table in Picture Gallery. |
