Improved performance from IAG FC
32IAG_FCThe second round of matches at the JJB Superdome in Manchester in the CSIP NW MH League saw IAG unable to break their duck, but the team clearly bettered their performance of five weeks ago...

Five weeks on and a far better all round showing in the second round of league games although still unable to find those elusive first points.
First up was a ding dong battle with Rochdale Nomads where goals from Jerry Lakin, Alan Pringle and Neil Marsom proved not quite enough to prevent a 3-4 reverse. St Helens then triumphed 5-2 in a game that was closer than the score suggested with Pringle and Marsom again the scorers. IAG were then offered the chance of a friendly against Leeds and wouldn't you know it, with no points at stake finally emerged victorious 4-3 in a cracking game. Pringle netted twice with Marsom and Andy Mulley also converting.

The final game was against the joint league leaders, a very strong Wigan People's Voice B. However after five minutes IAG were one up and tearing into the favourites. Fitness levels again told however, and in the end IAG were left on the wrong end of a 2-7 scoreline, Chris Tipton and Pete Sayers the scorers. Still no points, but as previously said, a much better effort and promise for the rest of the season. Mention for some stout performances from Jon Naylor and Chris Charlton.
