| It's a Goal! launches at Burnley FC! |
As previously promised, It's a Goal! has launched at a new venue, Burnley FC, the first of several summer initiatives...It's a Goal! launched at it's fifth football club with a very successful event at Burnley FC's Turf Moor ground. Alastair Campbell, Tony Blairs' former aide, was booked as the special guest but due to a bereavement, had to unfortunately cancel his appearance. He did however send an inspirational speech, and this was built on by Ian Clements, non executive director of East Lancs PCT, National Development Director Pete Sayers, Dr Alan Pringle from Nottingham University and two speeches from former players Jerry Lakin and Malachy Murray. Mark Hill from East Lancs also spoke about his role as Project Manager/Coach with support from two other coaches, Sean Lalor and Ian Broadley. The event was very well attended and the football club put on an excellent buffet lunch. Thanks were also given to the sterling work put in by Frank Hanily, Mark Nutley, Joy Arrandale and Kirsty Lyon in paving the way for the project to start, and all looked forward to a long and successful partnership with the club, which finds itself back in the top division once again.
