Coaches - Simon Porter & Paul Fastiggi
JANUARY 2012 and a second successful season ends at the Moss Rose...
IAG coaches Simon Porter and Paul Fastiggi finished their second successful season at Macclesfield Town's Moss Rose ground in December before receiving some telling feedback about the work they have been doing at the club. Emma Holland, the Resource Manager for CARE4CE Mental Health Reablement North based at Macclesfield Town Hall received the following from a Substance Misuse Practitioner at the East Cheshire Drug Service and passed it on to the lads.
"One of my clients attended the It's a Goal! course and gained significant benefit from the programme. His confidence appears to have grown and he is now speaking much more openly to me. His self perception seems much more positive and although he still has a long way to go, It's a Goal! has been an invaluable step forward for him. I was uncertain whether he would commit to regular attendance, but apart from one session, he has attended every group. From being ambivalent about attending groups, he is now keen to attend further groups and to build on the strategies he has learnt. Thank you and thanks to your team!"
Fantastic words and confirmation of the great work being carried out by Simon and Paul. Well done to them!
MAY 2011 - It's a Goal! finishes it's first season back at Macclesfield Town FC and all the comments are positive. When asked how they had felt at the start of the season, players comments included "lost," "depressed," "paranoid," "angry," "very defensive," "unable to see a bright future" and "stagnant." Asked about their current feelings, the players fed back that they now felt "more optimistic and hopeful." and that they "had the skills to help cope with problems." Also felt "much better in myself and more at peace with myself." Players added "I understood myself and other people better" and had "learned that life can get better therefore good things are possible." Coaches Simon Porter and Paul Fastiggi also felt the season had gone well, and plan the next in September. Many thanks were also due to the staff at the club whose helpfulness had been much appreciated.
