It's a Goal! was officially launched in the Scottish Borders at Melrose RUFC as an invited audience listened firstly to local champion Haylis Mackay and then National Director Pete Sayers both speak passionately about the programme. The audience were then treated to a contribution from ex player Malachy Murray, and a heart rending account of his past life from Andy Maclaren, ex Dundee Utd and Reading whose career had been torn apart by drink and drugs. Scottish rugby international and Melrose coach Craig Chalmers was also on hand to give the programme his backing, and the speeches were finished off by local It's a Goal! coach Frank Tait, as he outlined his hopes for the future. More photos will hopefully follow soon. Meanwhile, Frank hopes to get his first season up and running in Eyemouth so watch this space...
