| Stockport County join the It's a Goal! family |
 Exciting times at Edgeley Park as It's a Goal! starts at the home of Stockport County...More good news for It's a Goal! as the first team to "take the field" at Stockport County began their season on February 19th 2008. Project manager Pete Sayers said, "It is fantastic that It's a Goal! has managed to establish itself at another Football League club and gives everybody involved a huge boost. We see no reason why more clubs cannot be brought under our umbrella, and we look forward to taking this amazing idea even further in the future. Many thanks to Stockport for having the vision to house the project and for their warmth, friendliness and help." In an innovative twist, the Stockport programme is being co run by Pete and trainee Jerry Lakin, himself an ex player from It's a Goal! Added Pete, "Jerry is a tremendously motivated person who has managed to turn his life around and is passionate about It's a Goal! I think that in time, and with the right training, he can become a valuable member of the It's a Goal! team and a terrific project leader." Photos to follow... |
