| Stoke City launch It's a Goal! |
Celtic, Manchester Utd and Stoke legend Lou Macari puts his backing behind It's a Goal! during the launch at the Britannia Stadium...24th September 2009. Football legend Lou Macari was on hand to help as It's a Goal! launched at Stoke City's Britannia Stadium. The event, held in the Sir Stanley Matthews lounge, attracted a host of guests and media, and was a great success. MC for the day was Andy Oakes, Head of Service for Mental Health (City) North Staffs NHS Trust, and he introduced a number of speakers including Dr Alan Pringle (University of Nottingham), Pete Sayers (National Development Director), Malachy Murray (ex player), Tim Hamlett (Project Lead - Stoke) and Lou himself who gave an exceptional speech outlining his unreserved support for the venture. Guests were treated to tea, coffee and pastries and a fantastic cake that had been baked by local service users. Extra thanks for a great day must also go to Steve Buxton PR & media chief at Stoke City for his hard work behind the scenes. Also good to see a delegation from the Burnley franchise who turned up to lend their support. As ever, photos will be in the Picture Gallery section as soon as possible. |
